Situated at the meeting point of river Mahanadi and Tel. Manamunda, a village may not nationally or internationally popular for its natural scenic beauty and rich art and culture, but for the villagers and strangers it is more than heaven. Its a very beautiful place for picnic on river bank. You can find pleasure by boating around the river mainly near the Sangam(meeting point of River Tel and Mahandi).Its situated on one side of River Tel and on other side Sonepur town.Cruising and fishing with local boat-men in river a pleasant experience. Its more joyful and romantic in winter evening when you cross the river on boat ...realy very dazzling...no word can sufficient to express that beuties.

Manamunda is a small town of district boudh on the side of NH-224 and just 2Km away from sonepur town H.Q. of suvarnapur district.but the civilization of Manamunda area is as old as the oldest river valley civilizations of the world. As all civilization started on the banks of river and riverine passage was the mode of transport in the days of yore , people of Manamunda claimed to be inheritors of rich culture.

The excavation conducted by the Sambalpur University at Manamunda, a site located
on the right bank of the river Mahanadi at the confluence where Tel river merges with the Mahanadi revealed the evidence of the existence of Chalcolithic civilization there. That period was succeeded by a period in which Megalithic pottery and iron tools were present. The site was
